My name is Kisha Lee-Paylor. I am from Bethel, AK, I'm a military spouse and a mother to an amazing little girl. I am black and Yup'ik, I am a first generation college student and Psychology major. I recently took a drawing class and have a new interest and appreciation for art. I have always been involved in theatre and music, but really limited myself when it came to drawing or painting because I didn't think that I was good at it. Now I just enjoy the process and allow myself to try new things and make mistakes in drawing and find that I really enjoy it.

I love art that tells a story and brings awareness to an inequity and of course the beautiful native arts and crafts. I have a lot of native artwork in my home, I also have some African artwork and masks as well. I enjoy going to art museums, and was fortunate enough to have gone to the Galleria Borghese and Palazzo Massimo in Rome in 2019. My husband and I were stationed in Italy at the time so we were able to do some exploring in Italy, Germany, Spain, and France.

I love slam poetry, here's a poem that I enjoy and relate to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rYL83kHQ8Y
